"Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem"

Why This Matters

There is no condition that affects as many people in as many different ways – be that individuals, families or organisations as Mental Health – and yet very few people know how to help.

Mental health is about how we think, feel & behave. Whilst mental health problems are common, they tend to be short term and can be treated. But regardless of length, they all cause upset, worry and can result in a huge amount of  lost time for the affected, their loved ones and their colleagues.

We offer a range of courses to support individuals & organisations. We also offer a range of confidential counselling options to support individuals

Mental health Support

Whether work is causing the health issue or aggravating it, employers have a legal responsibility to help their employees.

15.4 million working days were lost to mental health issues in 2017/18, which equates to 57% of all working days lost to ill health in the UK! (sources: Mind UK & HSE).

One of the simplest things an organisation or an individual can do is to attend a First Aid for Mental Health Course & learn some simple ways they can support not just other people but also themselves.

Our Courses

At Mental Health North West, we offer a range of courses. These courses are designed to be stand alone – but they can also be combined to cater for all of an organisation’s needs over two days.

Wellness walks

Wellness Walks in the charitable arm of our organisation. We run a range of free programs that facilitate people getting into the outdoors in a safe and supportive way.

What is First Aid for Mental Health?

First Aid for Mental Health is the initial support provided to a person experiencing a mental health problem until professional help is received or the crisis is resolved. On our courses you’ll learn how to recognise a range of mental health issues, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost someone to professional help.

All of our First Aid for Mental Health courses are OfQual Regulated qualifications – this means that as an individual or an organisation you can be assured that the qualification holder has had their knowledge tested- they’ve taken an active and engaged role in learning – rather than simply sitting through a lecture or doing an online course.

Whichever option you choose with us we’ll support you to be your best you. There are always better days to come.
