First Aid for Mental Health
This is our most popular course for a reason. Over the course of the day participants learn to recognise common mental health issues including warning signs and contributory factors. A significant part of the course deals with practical ways in which someone in crisis can be helped – there’s a real emphasis on the development of practical skills & the confidence to be someone who helps.
We’ve delivered this course to literally hundreds of participants from outdoor instructors in remote locations to managers in busy offices – and the feedback has been that this is the best course they’ve ever done.
This 1 day course covers the content of the Level 1 course but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace..
Certification
A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This qualification is valid for 3 years.
