The course is suitable for those wishing to deliver the Safeguarding syllabus to schools, colleges, children’s services, healthcare professionals and others working in an environment where individuals are likely to find themselves at risk.

Details
This qualification is designed for learners who have contact with children, young people or vulnerable adults in their working environment including voluntary work.
The qualification promotes awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding enabling learners to be able to identify issues and emphasises the responsibility to ensure that concerns are reported and acted on appropriately.
The qualification is available to learners aged 18 or over.
The minimum classroom contact time of 7 hours can be delivered in 1 day or can be completed over a maximum of 3 weeks ensuring that each session is a minimum of two hours.
A range of subjects are covered including:
- Safeguarding legislation and guidance
- Indictors of abuse or neglect
- Making judgements
- Communication
- Roles and responsibilities
- Sharing of information
- Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaints
- Assessment and marking
A maximum of 12 students are allowed on the course and must be a minimum of 18 years of age. A certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
